Erin's goodbye

I did this special effect today with footage that I took on Tuesday afternoon. Renae had left for work when I filmed this and Erin was the only girl at home. Listen to what is said after Erin says goodbye. We don't know where this voice came from.

Sterling's Return

Sterling's Return

Sterling returned from Utah and is finally back home. His plane had problems and he was delayed for about an hour, thus, we had an hour to kill since the airport is over an hour away and the flight is pretty short so we were already there when we got the news. We drove to Bonneville Dam which is on the Columbia. The dam isn't what we went to see but it was the fish hatchery. I know you all have been to one and they are pretty much the same...except for this one. Here are some pictures.

Here is a picture of Erin and Damian in front of a fountain.

We decided to look at some fish that you can find in the Columbia River.

This Sturgeon behind Erin wasn't the biggest one in the pond. It was bigger than me. (Mike)

Unfortunately, you cannot land a fish this big out of the river but they are there. I talked to a guy that hook one as big as their boat. It was about 14 feet long. woof.

Here is proof that Sterling returned safely. We are standing at a view point near Longview, WA. He wanted to drive a while and we prayerfully let him.

Another film test

Here is another film test for our first film. There are a few things I would like to fix but I am pleased with the lightning/rain effect. Can you see something I am missing? I notice one thing that needs fixing but I want to wait to see if you can see it.

Have a great day!

Damian's Twin

Today, we were enjoying the sunny weather on Memorial Day Weekend and we had an awakening on what goes on in our house. I had no idea that Damian has a twin. I do not recall seeing them together until today. I really should pay more attention to the family, so it seems.

Damian's walk was his own for this video and he wasn't sure what I was thinking of when making this. It looks like the walking in Where the Wild Things Are. I have seen other people do this (the effect, not the walking) on Youtube and I wanted to see if I could do it. I love my computer!!

Father's and Son's Camp-out Mishap

This weekend was the Father's and Son's Camp-out. Unfortunately for me, only Sterling wanted to go. What's with kids today? It was a Stake event and our ward had a pretty good attendance. We took our family tent for just the two of us and the weather has been the best this entire year. We had a great time talking with our friends and playing games, etc. We had a great night and enjoyed each other's company.
The next day after playing catch with a football shot out of a potato gun, packing up, taking allergy medicine etc., we decided to hit a few geocaches on the way out. The first one we tried to visit, we walked along a beautiful logging road surrounded by trees and meadows. Unfortunately, the road ended and it looked like we could walk into the forest with little problems. I don't know how much you know how great gps reception is in tall trees but to fill you in, you don't get nothing. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small clearing with short green plants and sunlight. (there wasn't any green vegetation on the ground underneath the firs.) We trudged our way into the sunlight as I strained my eyes on my gps receiver in hopes to get some coordinates of our position. I did get it shortly after entering the clearing and started walking again, trying to stay in the small clearings.
Sterling stated that his legs were beginning to itch and to think of it, mine did as well. He then asked if maybe we touched some poison oak or something. I looked down to take a closer look of the plants we were strolling through and sure enough, poison oak.
We bee lined our way back to the truck staying inside the firs this time and with some awesome navigation on my part, brought us straight to the truck and hopped in.  We did hunt for a couple more geocaches but we felt it would be better to get home and get some topical medicine on our bare legs.
I started feeling really weird after getting home and with a little bit of concentration, I learned that whatever combination of allergy medicine, poison oak or the calamine lotion I was able to create small balls of fire with my mind. It has steadily been getting bigger and it is pretty cool. Please enjoy the video of my achievements and take care, I may be your ruler soon.

Sterling playing in the field

Sterling is on the Astoria High School Track and Field Team as a javelin toss guy. He is working very hard but enjoys being on the team. He has made many friends since he got on the team.

Here are some random pictures to entertain your eyes!

Weeeeee.
